William Hoffman

William-Hoffman-In-Remembrance-PageWilliam Hoffman (May 16, 1925—September 12, 2009) published thirteen novels and four short story collections. Some of those novels include A Walk to the RiverTide Water BloodBlood and Guile; and Lies. His short fiction has appeared in Playboy, the Saturday Evening Post, the Sewanee ReviewCosmopolitan and the Atlantic.

He was the recipient of numerous rewards, including the O. Henry award, the John Dos Passos Prize for Literature. He received the Dashiell Hammett Award for the book Tidewater Blood. Hoffman was also recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts for his work.
